Description
subtitled The Cruise of the "Islander"
You may have read about Harry Pidgeon in WoodenBoat's Jan/Feb 2009 issue #206. This book is about his trip around the world from 1921-1925 aboard the Islander, a 34-foot yawl he built. Includes 60 photos (print production in this book isn't exactly coffee table quality) but the story is remarkable. It's a look at the world of almost 100 years ago in Tahiti, Somoa and other "exotics". And, this book is the unabridged version of the original published in 1933.
