    Building a Strip Canoe

What a great book in all respects: history (from dugouts/birch barks to early Canadian and US strip), design considerations, example plans, recommended products (wood, glue, fasteners etc.) detailed step-by-step construction, beautiful color picture examples by those paying tribute to the author); even paddle construciton. I long dreamed of building an asymmetrical canoe with varying topside and bottom features, and this book provides everything to make that dream become a reality, though the process would not be as simple as I had thought. Highly recommended.
