I not only purchased the book but, I also met the author (Hilary Russell) and have purchased plans to make a solo 10 1/2.
The book goes into great detail and Hilary does a wonderful job explaining everything you need from start to finish!

Building Skin on Frame Double Paddle Canoes

This a unique book. It provides detailed step-by-step directions on how to build these interesting light weight canoes, and it also goes into a bit of the history of skin on frame boats from various areas of the world, and explains how the author combined techniques from those historic traditions into his own beautiful and practical design.
