Subtitled "A Biography of Naval Architect Geerd N. Hendel" the book is divided into thirteen chapters, from personal life to designs. This is a designer who worked with some of the greats. He was "borrowed" from Bath Iron Works by Starling Burgess as chief draftsman. When Burgess collaborated with Olin Stephens for the 1937 AMERICA's Cup, Hendel was a part of it.
Readers of WoodenBoat may recognize him because of the Boothbay Harbor One-Design, featured in issue #199.

I enjoyed the book very much as I own a Hendel designed yacht. It was built at Bald Mountain Boatworks under the name of Kyloe
I’ve been restoring it for the last two years.
