Subtitled "A selection of plans, drawings and notes" the book includes a foreword by designer Nigel Irens.
The books is divided into five sections, Yachts, Motor Boat, Pilot Cutters, Other Boats, and Unbuilt Boats. And like the designs, the book itself is beautifully produced on high quality paper, lush photos, lines drawings as well as sketches and final drawings of details. There are boat owner's comments on the boats, as well as overview comments. It's quite fitting that the end-papers are full-spread drawings by 8 year old Edward Burnett of his "Round the World Oschen Racer". Clearly, talent like this is deep seeded.
Over the many years we've been in this mail-order business, we've offered some wonderful books. Books which record the accomplishments of rare talents, giving the reader a deeper appreciation of the craft. And all too frequently, a few months or years after we introduce the book, we field "I don't find" inquiries about books which unfortunately have made their way out of print. Take the hint. Immerse yourself in this book, now.
