Description
Originally published in 1990, brought back by the fine folks at Lodestar Books in the UK.
New to this book is a foreword by Iain Oughtred, where in very Iain fashion, he points out that John Leathers' design commentaries are not exactly on the mark. "His suggested modifications are generally considered to be entirely inappropriate." Also new to the book are additional color artwork images as well as boat photographs. Plus there is a list of Albert Strange designs.
Albert Strange (1855-1917) was an accomplished artist, teacher, yacht designer, sailor, and writer, and he left his indelible mark on all these fields of activity, with levels of accomplishment, modesty and humor which have endeared him to so many, from his own lifetime to the present day. In this book, first published in 1990 by The Albert Strange Association and long out of print, John Leather provides a biography of Strange and a commentary on many of his designs.
