The big new Small Boats annual magazine is now officially on the newsstand. And, if you can't just pop-out to the store, you can order directly from our WoodenBoat Store. In addition to the oh-so tactile paper & ink version, we now have the digital version--so you can read all about it--within minutes. Click print and / or digital.
As we received our first dusting of snow this week, and it does seem to be that holiday kick-off time, we've revived our "stocking stuffers" sidebar item on our Store Site, and included some new items, like the VICTORY CHIMES glass boat (actual glass, not fiberglass) and mussel shell silver earrings, amongst the stocking-sized accoutrements.
Another new book just landed here, Jack Tar and the Baboon Watch, it's 200 pages about nautical words and phrases and how they became a part of our vocabulary. It might be an interesting item for some of your nautical nabobs.
We've added yet another boatbuilding plan to our collection of downloadable plans. The twelve-foot Goeller dinghy is about as rugged and handsome as they come. And you can now have the plans in a matter of minutes, regardless of where you are in the world.
Bad news: the publisher has sold out (as have we) of the wall calendar Classic Sail for 2016. However, we do have the ever elegant Calendar of Wooden Boats, as well as the varnishy Classic Runabouts calendar. Your wall wants you to get one.
Good news: now you can begin some serious daydreaming because the WoodenBoat School course catalog for 2016 is available for downloading. Read all about the courses, instructors, and of course, our pretty nice campus. And mark your calendar (ahem... see above) for January 4, as that's when registration opens for the upcoming season.
And lastly, opportunity is knocking. You and your pals could spend a week in Antigua this April aboard the Alden schooner HERON, during the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta. Click Wow! to read more and make your reservations while there are still some "seats" available. Or you could dilly-dally and miss-out on a great ride. Decisions, decisions.
