Small Boats 2016 is the annual print magazine with an on-sale date of November 23 at your local newsstand/book shop. Can't wait? We actually have it right now, here in Brooklin, Maine. Click SB16 to order a copy or two.

New... well, not actually new, but back in print, and as pretty as ever, the Rosenfeld book A Century Under Sail is now in stock. This is the hardcover version, and it's actually a lower price than it was back in 1987.

And speaking of "where did the time go?" we now have the new digi issue of Getting Started in Boats. The Getting Started supplement to WoodenBoat has now been around for 54 issues. This one covers the topic of reefing, and includes a variety a reefing strategies. It's good stuff to know. For more of the Getting Started series, click GS.

Here's some good news: Small Boats Monthly can now be given as a gift. The SBM website software is now able to handle the concept of giving a digital subscription. And, when you order that gift for your bestee, you save some money—two free issues worth. Just click One Year Gift Sub to take care of it.

Two items in the "did you know" section. (A) We publish a trade magazine, Professional BoatBuilder and the latest issue is now available for fast downloading. The "Parting Shot" column has an especially timely piece on understanding the VW diesel mess, written by Nigel Calder. Click PBB DIGI. (B) There is a new trade show created by Professional BoatBuilder, called REFIT. It's geared to folks in the trade, focusing on improving the refit process for the big yachts.

Fair winds to two of our authors who have recently passed away: Gifford Jackson (Marisol Skiff book and plans), 93, and Darryl "row wood" Strickler (Rowable Classics) 73.

And lastly, if you like to keep it interesting when sailing your small boat, you might want to spend two minutes with this video Kragerøterne found on our WoodenBoat Forum.
