The new issue of the highly regarded Boat Design Quarterly magazine is now available as a digital download. (Print version will be available in a few weeks.) Although publisher/editor Mike O'Brien had hoped for issue #45 to be available well before August, the good news is his publication schedule is now back on track to being more timely. This volume has five designs, including a handsome cutter from Paul Gartside, Plans and Dreams author/designer.
And speaking of new magazine issues, the WoodenBoat September/October edition is now available in both print and digital formats. And yes, you are correct... that is an Atkin gaff cutter on the front cover. If you are ready to subscribe or renew your subscription to WoodenBoat, the good news is you can now use PayPal from our magazine site. We are indeed stepping-up in the world.
Two more 2016 calendars have just landed here in beautiful downtown Brooklin, Maine. Kathy Mansfield's Classic Sail, and the brothers Wangard Classic Motorboats (we've had the Ben Mendlowitz 2016 Calendar of Wooden Boats for a couple of months)... all for your viewing/planning pleasure.
Last but not least, we leave you with one more new item: our Sailing Hat in size Large (7-1/4 to 7-3/8). Lightweight and well vented, these just arrived, and just in time, as we are now out (until October-ish) of the XL size.
