Just arrived on this afternoon's truck, our handsome new alternative for the required USCG oil and garbage Discharge Plaques. These are cherry wood veneer, and laser printed. Mounting is simple because of the peel-n-stick backing. They're a nice replacement (and lower price!) of a variation we did a few years ago.

Also just in: The Saga of the International One-Design, a 210 page, large-format book, with hundreds of lush photographs from the many years of sailing and racing IODs, as well as drawings and other graphics. You can read a review of the book in the latest (March/April #231) issue of WoodenBoat.

And yet another new arrival: Simon Watts plans/book, Building the Silver Thread. It's the latest combo in our digital (PDF) collection. You can download instantly from our site, which saves you delivery time, delivery fees, and even customs fees if outside the US. You'll want to get the plans printed-out (approximately 30" x 40") when you're ready to build.

And finally, with two boat shows coming up in April, getting boats in the water, (at least in our neck of the woods) can't be too far off. In Ontario: Wooden Boat Symposium and in LA (no, not Los Angeles... ) The Bayou Teche Wooden Boat Show, co-founded by WoodenBoat Forumite Roger Stouff. Two events to help get back into the swing of things.
