February 18, 2015To: WoodenBoat Devotees
Although the calendar (and weather) indicates February, we can already see into the future. Yes, the new WoodenBoat issue for March/April has arrived—both in print and digital formats. Also, the Extended Content section of the WoodenBoat site includes additional goodies from the "Design Sketchbook" feature. And more good news: the Getting Started (#50) supplement has returned with this March/April Issue.
Speaking of calendars... the publisher for The Mariner's Book of Days tells us the desk calendar will make a comeback later this year, with a 2016 version. When we know more, we won't keep it a secret.
We have excellent news for Phil Bolger students/fans. The book Boats with an Open Mind is now back in stock. It's over 400 pages and includes 75 Bolger designs. Out of print for several years, it's a book that certainly deserves to once again be read and studied.
And lastly, if you're on the lookout for a good kiddo build, check out this series of easy-to-build toy boats, ranging from the 3" micro sailing dinghy Sea Flea, to the rubber band propelled 12" Neon Tetra submarine.
