This morning we took delivery of our new laser-etched fleece hats, and to pander to Saint Valentine, we have a Hot Pink version, as well as Sage Green. Get one of each, and you're practically spumoni! Place your order today before 2:00pm (-5 GMT), select Priority Mail and it will go out on today's truck, so you will likely have it by Friday.
Also just in, the brand new Boat Design Quarterly issue. Link: BDQ 43. If you've not read Mike O'Brien's magazine, this is an especially good issue to start with, and not just because of the variety of boats. The picture he paints with prose in his "From the Drawing Table" opening is worth the price of admission. You can just about imagine the darkened theater and voice-over narration, as the camera pans down from above, and the movie begins....
And speaking of magazines just arriving, our own WoodenBoat March/April #237 print issue is now here (as well as the Digi). In Matt's intro letter you'll read about the pending retirement of two of our most illumed staff: Publisher Carl Cramer, and WoodenBoat magazine Art Director Olga Lange. You're likely familiar with Carl for his MWBoTW column, creator of Family BoatBuilding, WOOD Regatta, as well as our sister publication Professional BoatBuilder magazine, and IBEX Show. Olga has worked more "behind the scenes" since 1983. In addition to designing the magazine, she has designed front covers for some of our most successful books, including How to Build a Wooden Boat, Building Small Boats, and How to Build Glued-Lapstrake Wooden Boats. Three cheers for these two.
And lastly, take a look and listen to Cornish luggers set to Eric Satie's Gymnopédie No. 1. It's good for what ails.
