Just arrived... a new book about (not by) Lin & Larry Pardey. Written by Herb McCormick, As Long as It's Fun is about the well-known world-cruising couple, and easily falls into the "good read" category. If you suspect that wander gene might be a part of your DNA, this honest look at the lives of Lin and Larry covers it all. And the book comes at a milestone in the Pardey's life: their Lyle Hess designed TALEISIN is now on the market, as they are ready to hand-over the tiller, as it were. See more about this handsome cutter on our own WoodenBoat MarketPlace-Boats for Sale. Link: TALEISIN.

Frederick Goeller and William Hand are a couple of designer names from the past, and they're mentioned here as we have a few of their designs in our Digital Download collection, under the WoodenBoat Library Archives section. Link: Designs from the Past.

You folks get the first look-see at the latest in our on-going series Getting Started in Boats. This edition covers "Keeping Watch" and is illustrated by Jan Adkins, who wrote and illustrated Moving Heavy Things and The Craft of Sail, among other books. Also, if you're a fan of the Getting Started series, we have grouped 1-20 and 21-40 as downloads. It's a bit simpler than doing the individual downloads, and you'll save a few dollars as well. And lastly, it's not considered magic, but what this guy can do in the name of woodworking is pretty close. Where did we find this? On our WoodenBoat Forum, of course: Chisel Control.
