We have just received the digital book The Case for the Cruising Trimaran by Jim Brown. Jim's combination of enthusiasm and experience make this an especially interesting read. Although the print version is no longer available, this digital (pdf) version is, and it has an intro price of $12.00 for the next 30 days (it then goes to $15.00.) And, because it's on our digital downloads section, you could be reading it in just minutes. For a profile article about Jim, see WoodenBoat #69. And, if you can't get enough on the trimaran side of things, there's also Jim's article in our sister publication Professional BoatBuilder magazine. See PBB #121 (caution: non-wood construction ahead!). Jim is the father of Russel Brown, whose highly regarded Epoxy Basics was mentioned last month. Yes, talented family.
What else is new? We now have the digital version of the new WoodenBoat #234 Sept/October issue.
And, while we previously mentioned Kathy Mansfileld's Classic Sail calendar for 2014 as being available, we also now have the Calendar of Wooden Boats, Classic Runabouts, and Down to the Sea wall calendars, plus the desk calendar The Mariner's Book of Days. You can see them all by clicking 2014 Calendars.
Just revamped: our on-line Register of Wooden Boats. It's exceptionally handy as it works on your smart phone. So, if you're sailing around and want to answer the question "what IS that boat" the Register is the place. Currently, there are over 7000 entries. Is YOUR boat there? You can add it by clicking Sign-up to Post. Don't forget to include a photo or five.
And lastly, at the risk of sounding like the sales pitch "hurry, hurry, hurry, it's the last one on the lot..." we suggest you don't dilly-dally if you want a print copy of MotorBoats 2013. Word is it will sell-out. Granted, there's always the Digi MotorBoats 2013.
