A new book, albeit in digital form, has just come to us from Russell Brown, of Port Townsend Watercraft. You've likely seen some of his work in past issues of WoodenBoat and Small Boats. Especially adept at wood-composite construction, Russell has produced "Epoxy Basics" a 42 page digital book packed with his tips and techniques to refine your fillets and do wonders for your workmanship. We've got it as an instant download, click Epoxy Basics for more.

Also just arrived, a book that you can actually touch... and color. Recently published by the good folks at Dover, The Story of the Vikings includes outline drawings of traditional Viking boats and construction details, home life (some of those 'houses' look like upside-down boats!), raids, artwork, and more.

If you clicked on the St Ayles Championships photos linked from our last newsletter, those were Kathy Mansfield images. She's also behind the lens for some wonderful classic yacht photos in the form of her annual Classic Sail calendar for 2014 which is available right now.

Looking for results and awards? Aren't we all. But in this case, it's the recent Eggemoggin Reach Regatta tallies, where (too modest to point it out themselves) Carl (WB Publisher) and Jon (WB founder, etc., etc.) both took third place honors in their respective classes.

Got talent? Our friend Joe Youcha of the Alexandria Seaport Foundation (and TWSBA) gave us a heads-up about that neat venture Rocking the Boat. They're looking for a Program Director.

And lastly, we leave you with a puzzle. Not a riddle-type, it's the jig-saw type: Schooner Puzzle.
