Those new hooded sweatshirts shown in our catalog have just arrived. So, if you already ordered, we've shipped it. And if you would like to order, we ship within 24 hours, with most orders arriving in just a couple of days. These comfortable hoodies are "heather mixed", ie: Blue/Heather, Green/Heather, and Charcoal/Heather. TAKE A LOOK.
A couple of weeks ago we mentioned most of our new women's Raspberry v-neck t-shirts were available. Now we have all sizes. Check'em out at V-NECKS.
The good folks at Weems & Plath have just made it easier (cheaper!) to order their CrewWatcher man-overboard beacon. If you order between now and the end of the year, you'll receive a rebate ($10 on the single, $20 on the pair). NOW IS THE TIME.
If you visited our WoodenBoat School this summer, you may have met Joao Bentes (JB) from Portugal, who worked in the School's Shop. He was telling us about his boatbuilding project and when describing the fishing vessel, we realized we stock just one title on Portuguese fishing boats. Although it's been out of print for years, Fishing Boats and Their Arts actually had his design on the cover, and in the book. To see more about JB's ambitious project click BREAK THE ANCHOR.
And lastly, at the WoodenBoat Show this past summer, our friends at MIT's Hart Nautical Collection gave us a heads-up about their October exhibit. MIT is presenting "Lighter, Stronger, Faster: The Herreshoff Legacy". This exhibit includes not only artifacts from the extensive MIT collection, but also from Mystic Seaport Museum; Rhode Island Historical Society; US Naval War College; Museum of Science and Industry; the Herreshoff Marine Museum; and private collections. It opens October 18, and promises an extensive run. It's all at the MIT MUSEUM. Plus you'll get to say "I went to MIT."
