We've had quite the busy season, and wanted to give you a heads-up about some items that sold out in December—but are now back in stock.
The new book Marine Diesel Basics, which we offered in mid-December, sold-out within days. "We'll make more" said the publisher, and sure enough, we have the book back on the shelf.
Thank goodness our Silver Sand Dollar Earrings are once again available. They seem to have struck a chord with many folks. They're back, and we shipped back-orders yesterday.
And the Robert Baker book, created by his daughter Sarah, is also now on our shelves. Interesting guy, and quite the designer/builder, he earned high praise from WB royalty.
If you missed our prior mentions of sign-up time for the 2018 season for the WoodenBoat School, registration is officially open. They had a record-setting number of calls yesterday, so don't dilly dally if you've realized a week at the magical kingdom here in Brooklin might be the coolest thing of the year. Pick up the phone, give'em a call: 207.359.4651. Operators are standing by.
Have you subscribed to WoodenBoat? January is a prime subscriber month for those who like their subscriptions to begin at the beginning. Subscribe to the digital issue (or add the digital for just a few extra bucks) and you'll get a heckuva bonus: eight years of back issues which you can read on-line as well as download. Although we don't mention that on the sub page, it's true. We're not makin' this stuff up.
And lastly, editor Christopher Cunningham has just posted the January issue of Small Boats Monthly. Don't miss his "From the Editor" piece… it's another good read, from his waterway trips of the past. This new issue includes a Penobscot 14, a François Vivier 15 footer with two mast steps, a Vancouver BC sailing adventure in a boat built in a month, doughnut fenders (anything with the word doughnut has to be good) and more.
