We can feed your shiny object syndrome with our new cloisonné (hard enamel) pins in Red or Black. These are 1" ovals, with a nickel finish logo and edging. Extra-nice clutch backing, they'll dress-up your lapel and your outlook.
We've also added three digital downloadable boatbuilding plans to our collection. From the maven of stitch-n-glue building, these Sam Devlin-designed power skiffs are now available in metric, so not only is the sizing ideal for folks outside the US, but the digital delivery saves time and money. Take a look: 13 16 18 Candlefish(es).
Consider these three books, simply because they're fabulous: Herreshoff: American Masterpieces, Dragon Harald Fairhair, and Tugboats Illustrated. If you'd like to gift something with that oooh aaah factor, you can't miss with these. And if you're looking for the smaller "add-on" items, we have a section on our Site called "Stocking Stuffers" that may fit the bill. Granted, you can always email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call us (1.800.273.7447) and we're happy to do the personal shopper thing. We do know our "stuff", so you might find us helpful with appropriate suggestions. We might even talk you out of an item.
Word on the street, or more accurately our circ department, is the latest Small Boats annual hit the newsstands a bit later than expected. So you may want to check locally if you didn't find it a week or so ago. Granted, we do have them in-stock here in Brooklin, in Print and Digital format.
And lastly, if you've wondered about what goes into building a sail (or are simply fascinated by the process) a thread on our WoodenBoat Forum, begun by Fredostli of Norway might strike your fancy. There's a lot of back and forth, not the least of which is from highly regarded sailmaker Todd Bradshaw (of Canoe Rig fame). Click Make a Standing Lugsail.
