To: WoodenBoat Devotees

We've just returned from The WoodenBoat Show held at the Mystic Seaport Museum, in Mystic CT. Although we've not actually un-packed and done our bean counting, we certainly know two of the big hits were our brand new long-sleeve hooded jerseys (literally arrived the night before we left Brooklin) which come in Periwinke, and Seafoam. They have the WB logo on the chest, and "WoodenBoat" down the sleeve. The other newbie is our Latin T-shirts "Semper Naves Ligneae" or "Wooden Boats Forever", printed on a super soft Hanes shirt.

A major treat for all attending the Show was seeing the largest viking ship afloat, the Draken, which offered tours. We got an up-close look at all of the detail work. And we discovered that the Draken (Dragon) book we've been stocking doesn't seem to be available elsewhere, so it made our booth a popular hang-out for the Draken volunteers.

About as minor as you can get in the scheme of all things wooden boat-ish, yet kind of fun and a hit at our Store tent was our new WoodenBoat logo oval magnets. They're made for outdoor (think vehicle) use. Our guess is they make people smile, and attract friends. True magnetism.

If you stopped by the Small Boats Monthly booth, you probably noticed Robin was covering for editor Christopher Cunningham. Chris was deadlining for the July issue of SBM, which is now on-line. Check it out, especially if you've not seen the updated format.

And lastly, thanks to the plethora of folks who stopped by our booth to say hello, to the many WoodenBoat Forum members, and to our Store crew who once again set the bar high, running our part of the event like a well-oiled machine. That's the stuff that makes the event so enjoyable. That and ice cream at the bridge.
