To: WoodenBoat Devotees

We just took delivery of a neat book: Finding Pax by Kaci Cronkhite. Many of you will know of Kaci from her decade of running the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend, Washington—which happened this past weekend. She no doubt will have writer's cramp for a week, after signing piles of her new book. Finding Pax Is an interesting story well told, and Pax is quite the boat, too. You'll see photos and a short video on our Site.

Another new book from Lodestar in the UK has recently made its way here: The Canoe Yawl by Richard Powell. It's packed with drawings, artwork, and photos, including quite a few Albert Strange designs. Lodestar continues to buck the trend by producing exceptional books in a niche arena.

Good news from the boatbuilding plans section of the WoodenBoat Store... we now have Ninigret, the 22' handsome powerboat designed by John Atkin, as well as the very nimble and efficient 15' power skiff Fleet, from designer Ross Lillistone. Plus we have the 22' version of the much admired double-ender, Sjogin. Plans are in-stock, ready to deliver to your shop, or your daydreams.

Thanks to the captains and crews (and wonderful breeze) for once again bringing the windjammer fleet to the WoodenBoat waterfront. Yesterday marked the 30th anniversary for the annual gathering, and there seemed to be a record turnout (thanks Meg/Maine Windjammer Association) for the event. No doubt tons of pixels were used-up, some of which should make their way to the WoodenBoat Facebook and Instagram pages.

And lastly, if you've not cared for those regular airhorns to help signal your fog-boundness, take a look at the variations Small Boats Monthly editor Christopher Cunningham has come up with. It's posted in his Editor's page, titled Little Big Horn. Clever, and enlightening.
