Description

The legion of E.B. White devotees will be pleased with this "best of" compilation by Martha White, "Andy's" grand-daughter, and bride of Rockport Marine's Taylor Allen. Martha is also the sister of Brooklin Boatyard's Steve White. And, Martha (the boat) buillt by Joel (EB's son...) has been sailed by WoodenBoat School Director Rich Hilsinger for many, many years. Hence, aside from the beautiful writing, our connection/interest. Small-town living.

Martha is manager of the EB White literary estate. The book features canine-related essays, poems, and letters. And it includes previously unpublished photographs from the E. B. White Estate.

Review

E.B. White, dog enthusiast and keen observer, liked to opine about what made his many dogs do what they did. Predateing the blogosphere by nearly a century, White's personable storytelling retains its freshness and immediacy and will charm and enlighten a new generation of dog-lovers.

What could be better than E.B.White & Dogs?

We’ve got two shelves of books by writers from The New Yorker, so were
thrilled to see his book about Dogs, so bought two copies. It was meant to
be as the Dachshund looked like ours. And now we’re reading the book to
Our Bichon, Jose, but it’s slow going as he’s unfamiliar with White’s polished
prose. We’ll keep at it though because we’ll all be the better for it!
