Description
Subtitled The Sydney Wooden Boat School Manuals
This book is a compilation of prior manuals by the author, for teaching the range of boatbuilding construction methods.
The intro includes choosing a design, choosing a building method, and mistakes to avoid.
Sections include building a traditional clinker (lapstrake) dinghy, strip planking, plywood clinker construction, and building the Whiting Skiff which is an 11 foot ply lapstrake (clinker) skiff you might find similar to a Shellback Dinghy. There is a carvel section, (no cold-molded section) a restoration section, and a "plans you can build" section, which is actually photos and a brief description of boat plans you can order directly from the school in Australia.
The book is strong on explanation via photos and many sketches and drawings.
