The effect is incredible. Beautiful unlit, the magic happens at the flick of the switch. No dazzling sequins, smoke or mirrored magic, but the soft timeless kind that gradually, methodically works its way inside without your taking notice. A good read will somehow be all the more so with the page lit by this lamp. It's true. Just LOOK at it, and you'll understand. You can tell the shells are selected and placed with thought as well as care. Built by hand, signed and numbered, the shades are created with copper foil and lead in the manner that would meet the approval of the meticulous Mr. Tiffany.
Cast metal base, felted on the bottom, 6' cord with inline switch, and we just had to include this special 60 watt 960 lumens bulb to bring out the most in the colors. The lamp is 19" tall, the shade is 12" in diameter, and approximately 7" high. While the shells come from all over the world, the lamps are built in art deco-inspired Chicago.
