Greatness can happen in everyday items. This beach (park, backyard, rainy day livingroom...) blanket is indeed terrific because not only is it colorful, but when spread-out it won't trip you up, and the edges blow over in the lightest breeze. When you're ready to go, it easily folds and rolls-up. Almost a cross between a mat and a rug, but with the weight of a blanket. Made from a soft poly, it's also durable.
