Must read for the canoe yawl crowd. This is a ‘nautical biography’ of George Holmes (1861-1940) by Tony Watts, of the Albert Strange Association. Holmes and Strange were sailing companions, who both favored the canoe yawl. The book includes the lion’s share of Holmes’ published output of drawings, designs and cruising accounts — many of the latter charmingly hand-written, many others entirely re-set for comfortable reading.
