Compromise sloop designed by N.G. Herreshoff in 1871. The plans produce a model that is 19" long.
When you purchase the set of plans, you also receive instructions on building by the "lift" method, as well as a bit of historical information on the boat.
Suggested Tools:
If you start with wood pre-planed to thickness, then:
scissors, pencil, coping saw, combo square, hammer, spokeshave, block plane, wood rasp, chisels... 1/2" to 1-1/2", gouge, screwdriver, c-clamps (about a dozen would be handy).
Carpenter's wood glue, sandpaper, shellac/varnish/tung oil--whatever you're going to finish with.
Shadow plans include 4 pages of detailed drawings, including full-sized patterns for each lift, as well as template for you to shape the profile.
