Nice tool. Steel body with rosewood handles. (If you saw our ad for this in the Sept/Oct WoodenBoat it showed a brass protoype we received for testing. The actual tool is steel. But it's still wicked nice.) The high carbon tool steel blade is 1/8" thick. tempered to Rockwell c60-62 and ground sharp ready to use. Additional honing will increase performance. The body length is 10 1/2" and the blade width is 2". Each spokeshave is shipped in a nicely jointed hardwood box. |
