Designed by George Steers and launched in 1851. The America was the first winner of what is known as the America's Cup. This kit can be built as an "admiralty-style" model with its mahogany ribs exposed, or you may complete the planking. It includes full-sized plans, instructions, cloth to make the sails, brass and pewter fittings, rigging line, and all of the wood needed including a mahogany display stand. This is a good kit for the inexperienced modeler to learn planking skills.
