WoodenBoat Publications Inc., produces two magazines, WoodenBoat, and Professional BoatBuilder.
WoodenBoat magazine has been published since 1974. It is written for wooden boat owners, builders, and designers. All of what you see on this site is an outgrowth of WoodenBoat. Professional BoatBuilder is a trade magazine written for owners and managers of boat production, construction, and repair companies. And, Professional BoatBuilder in conjunction with NMMA, produces the IBEX (International Boatbuilders Exhibition) Trade Show held in Miami, Florida each October. Professional BoatBuilder also produces the on-line professional marine industry education programs by ProBoat E-Training.com.
WoodenBoat started the WoodenBoat School in 1980, where expert instructors teach courses in boatbuilding, repair, seamanship, design, woodworking, and much more. Seamanship courses are run out of our boathouse.
In addition to publishing magazines, WoodenBoat Publications publishes books under the WoodenBoat Books imprint, featuring titles on boatbuilding, nautical history, woodworking, and our annual desk calendar A World of Boating. You'll see WoodenBoat Books on the sidebar of this site.
An annual event produced by WoodenBoat, is The WoodenBoat Show. It's three days of enjoying wooden boats, meeting the boatbuilders and manufacturers of marine related products, participating in events like Family Boatbuilding, and just being on the water.
