Footnote: The Centerboard version does not list/predict amount of ballast to use. Instead, you'll want to "ballast to trim" and to bring her down to her lines. Total may exceed the 700 lbs shown on the keel version, but that weight would be good for starters. In a boat like this, so much depends upon the gear that's onboard, whether she has an inboard engine and tankage, and, of course, and the nature of the anchor rode (chain or rope), that it's really hard to establish a precise weight of ballast ahead of time. Most boats of the Sea Bird's era got a goodly portion of their ballast added "to suit" after they were launched.
