The Lightning is a centerboard sloop designed in 1938 by Sparkman & Stephens as a family day-sailer and racing boat. Well over 15,000 have been built over the years, and it has evolved into one of the most popular and competitive one-design racing classes in the world.
This model is hand-built, made of all wood parts. It comes with pre-sewn sails (including Lightning Bolt on the sail) and is fully rigged. You just step the mast and attach the lines. And, it comes with a wooden display stand.
Dark hull, white deck and varnished spars, wood cockpit, rudder and tiller make this a stand-out.and a beautifully finished dark blue hull w/white bottom paint.
